Felicitaciones Ale! Que monstro!

“Hola a todos!!

Hoy vivimos un momento historico en Villa Maria y el mas importante mio como pescador. Esta tarde temprano despues de comer nos fuimos con Ale y Agus a pescar un par de horas antes del warm up session. La pesca estuvo dura, pero ya casi al final y con una “Martello leech” tuve un pique violento y luego de una no muy larga pero dura pelea pude sacar este monstruo de 1,03 mts de largo y 62 cmts de circunsferencia que pesó 33,5 libras (15,2 kilos)!!! es el pescado mas grande de mi vida y el record historico de Villa Maria que hasta el momento era un 32 lbs. Un pescado realmente impresionante, super fresco y duro como una piedra!
Bueno queria compartirlo con ustedes porque mi emocion alegria llega hasta la antartida hoy!

Sea Trout Fishing report from “el Fin del Mundo”

For the last couple weeks I’ve been touring around Tierra del Fuego. The fishing had been excellent, but last week it did a complete about face, as unseasonably hot & dry weather has conspired to put down the fish. It often seems like the better the weather is, the worse the fishing is, and vice versa. I suppose you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Nonethless, everyone got fish & Jim and Henrik provided more than enough comic relief at the lodge to make up for the slow fishing. Copious amounts of fernet even lead to a rather prolonged (right word usage?) nude fishing competition. At least it was warm..Unfortunately those pictures aren’t family appropriate, so these will have to do:

Rio Grande Start of Season

The Rio Grande season has begun!!

The conditions we have had during these first 2 weeks of the season are hard to beat. We started with fluctuating water levels but as soon as it stabilized we began seeing some great fishing. All very fresh bars of silver and 2 that broke the 20lb mark!

Second Week, classic early season fishing.

The river is now in perfect shape, clear water at the ideal height. We can wade all the pools and reach the hot spots easily. We closed the week with 66 fish caught! 12 were over 15 lbs and 3 over 20 lbs. The average fish per rod per day is just under 4.
