After a very hard journey hiking up river, Nico was ready to set base for sleeping, but suddenly he noticed that a school of Pacues was feeding out of fruits right next to the shore. Only one cast was enough to get their attention! What an experience watching one of those Pacues going after a flower imitation and what a tremendous fight!!

Just a couple of cast -Petrohue River, Chile-

Few days before the season ends in Argentina we decided to go for a short adventure to southern Chile, where the Andes mountains meets the Pacific ocean. The weather wasn’t that good, rainy most of the days. Anyway, we couldn’t return without catching at least one Chilean trout! We visited the Petrohue river just for a couple of hours, an incredible river which runs trough the middle of the valdivian rain forest, from the Lake Todos los Santos to the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay more fishing around the area but there will be more chances to do it…

Limay River Fever II

Theres no words to explain how fishing has been this last 45 days on the Limay river, it has shown us that we have one of the best brown trout rivers in Patagonia and maybe one of the best in the world.

Water level still above average, but weather has been magnific, very little wind and warm weather. We have also caught our first browns in La Boca !! We changed our tackle also, from using sinking lines in the very beginning of the season, we have changed to floating and floating with small sinking tips, it´s amazing to see this huge fish taking the flies almost in the surface.

We have also floated the river a couple of times and again, big trouts were there ! We have both broken our personal record of landlocked Brown trout, please check out this pics, I´m quite sure you will enjoy them!

Unluckily water level has dropped and fishing still pretty good! We haven´t hooked as many fish as in the very beginning of the season but the biggest fish were caught these last days.

Sea trout fishing

As a fishing guide in southern Patagonia, guiding and fishing for sea-trout has become something really interesting and necessary for me, this is an extremely difficult fish to catch, most of the good fishing is in low light conditions and you never know when this moody fish is going to take your fly, but when they do! hold on from your rod cause their takes are what I call AGRESSIVE!

Take a look of the different colors and shapes that they can get depending on the ambient where they come from. Here i picked some pictures of our recent sea-trout caught in several countries in the world.

Good news from Peto have arrived, fishing for dorado in the upper Parana is picking up, as it usually happens every year by the end of the winter.

Silkeborg- Pike fishing- Denmark Lake district-

I was looking at some pictures when I suddenly remembered about a fishing journey that I had in the area of Silkeborg, Denmark.

All started when I went to visit my sister in the city of Silkeborg in the month of June. I didn’t know anything about fishing in the area, so as any would normally do, I searched for a local angler. My sister introduce me to Tomy, a well known fisherman of the area and we agreed to fish together the following day in a lake located just out from the city.

We prepared the equipment, 8 weight rod and a sink tip line or shooting head line, a very thick tippet and the fly was made out of flashabou that looked like a Christmas tree. Rowing in a small boat we fished this greenish looking water, trying to catch a fish that I never fished for before, the Pike. We didn’t fish much until the first fish took, wasn’t hard to bring it in, but the take felt really good, almost like a fresh water dorado. I was lucky to catch a pretty decent one at the end, anyway, it was a great fishing day in a new fishing place.
